Located at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountain, Kinnity is in the heart of
the Irish Midlands and within easy reach of the major towns - Birr, Roscrea
and Tullamore. It is also adjacent to Kinnity Castle - the ancient seat of
the O'Carrolls of Ely. This area has lots to offer the visitor, walks in
natural river and forest surroundings. The Silver River nature
trail, Cadamstown, is a geological reserve and an area of great beauty. There are
guided tours through the Slieve Blooms to visit many ruined castles,
monasteries and places of archaeological interest. Kinnity Village is an idea
touring base for the surrounding areas.
Directions
Dublin Airport to Kinnitty Exit from airport take M1 for Dublin, follow signs for Toll Bridge. Take the first turn off M1 for M50
(note- easy to miss). Follow the signs on this road for N7 also sign-post Naas Road.
Stay on the N7 through Kildare, Monasterevin, Ballybrittas (small village). Watch out for Montaque Hotel on the left about
3 kms from Ballybrittas. Take the next right for Emo & Mountmellick. In Mountmellick drive through main street past the square
in the town centre. Take the next left for Birr, drive through Rosanallis, Clonaslee, and Cadamstown and then you arrive in Kinnity.
Flaherty's is towards end of village on left hand side.
Kinnity village is an ideal touring base for the surrounding areas,
with most major towns and cities under a two hour drive:
